He raised an eyebrow slightly. "Okay, then." He then smirked at her. "Anger and violence don't solve anything, Shorty." He stopped, then laughed to himself. "Hell, what am I saying?" He then grinned at her. "Be careful to contain you emotions, Shortstack. You never know who can feel 'em." He winked at her before turning, curiosity satisfied, and beginning to walk away. Still, her extreme anger and wish for violents nagged at the back of his mind. His eyebrows knitted together. 'Why would she be so full of anger? She doesn't look much older than me.' He then shook his head. 'You'd think I'd know better than to judge a book by its cover.'

She bristled once more, her sharp incisors gleaming as she pulled back her lips slightly. This human had addressed her: a lowly human! And so casually, too! She was outraged, for no apparent reason. She stomped after him, the caramel at the end of her coat swishing angrily, as if it had a mind of it's own! Her ears were flattened, a bit of them poking out of her beret. "Now wait just-" she stopped mid-sentence, becoming one of the 'stills' on the street that she hated so much. Ah... wait... feel? WHAT? a puzzled look overcame her face and her brows also knitted together. She began to walk after him while thinking, driven by her sub-conscious seft (as she felt much loathing for those who dawdled on the streets).

The boy was now focused on making it back to his former spot in one piece, and judging by the numerous people ramming into him, that wouldn't be possible. He grimaced slightly as a woman jabbed a sharp elbow into his side, without a hint of remorse. He finally gave up on being nice and, drawing to his full height, all of 6"4', pushed his way through, back to the brick wall he was fond of. The unlucky thing was, he liked to people-watch, and, sensing emotions, that was never smart to be in a crowded place, like malls or streets like this one. So, he preferred to watch from secluded places like the wall. Suddenly, a punch was thrown in front of him by a short man at another, taller man, almost as tall as the teenager. He stepped between them and caught his fist, pushing it back towards the man slowly. "Easy," he said,"If you're gonna fight, fight where no one else will get hurt." He then pushed past then, jamming his hands in his pockets and staring straight ahead. He felt her emotions following him, like a buzz at the back of his mind, but paid no attention.

Curling her lip in disgust at the two men about to brawl, she shuffled past them after the boy. Her mind was whirring, and she was aimlessly dodging the people as she followed the strange (and very tall!) boy. She held her long coat closed as she followed as silently as possible. 'Does he even know I'm following him?' she thought, biting her lip slightly before the realization struck her. 'WOAH! What is wrong with me?!' she thought, wanting to stop, but her feet kept up the pattern 'I'm following this human! For no good reason! Only because he hinted at feeling-reading, but I mean, he probably saw my cat ears and thought me some weird freak...' "Argh!" she cried, not meaning for the outburst. A few people looked at her strangely but she hurried on. Grumbling something unintelligible, she popped a piece of peppermint into her mouth and scowled.

The boy plodded on, his thoughts gradually turned to the caramel-haired girl as her feelings of annoyance grew ever stronger. He suddenly paused in his walking, one eyebrow raised. He chuckled slightly and said, loud enough so he was sure she would hear,"Curious?" He snorted slightly before continuing to walk, pushing past people forcefully in an attempt to move forward. When he pushed the wrong person, he dodged a livid man's punch, then caught his arm and flipped him, but instead of dropping him, set him on his feet, where the man stared at the blond boy as he swayed slightly. "Sorry, sir, but fights aren't meant to be out in public where bystanders could be hurt. Throw punches at me when no one else is nearby only, please." Ending this, he flashed him a smile before moving on.

Her last nerve rather frayed, she stopped and gave a stubborn scowl, but did not deny the boy's comment. Instead she growled slightly and began to crouch, dodging people rather expertly by now, and running to catch up to the boy. Once she caught him, she had no idea what to do, but for now this was her prey and she would not let it backtalk her! (Her mind was urging her on, hoping to let the beast take control as it so often did in these days).

The boy again put her out of his mind as he saw the mental safety of his wall. He ran for it, darting through the crowd as fast as he could, twitching every time someone felt any emotion. Apparently, at close range, it felt worse than farther away. Finally making it to the wall, he caught his breath, spun around, and leaned against the wall, a complete replica of before, minus his face, which was twisted in a slightly amused grin in the girl's direction. He folded his arms across his chest loosely, shifted so he wasn't pressing against something that was poking him in the back, and waited.

Her mouth pulled back into a sneer as the boy ran, her predatory beast shouting dangerous things. She had identified him as prey (though he was much, much larger than her, by a foot!) and he was running. That alone was enough to send off her instincts. Teeth gleaming in a wicked grin, she followed, effortlessly keeping up and feeling the thrill of the hunt as he flinched from some pain unknown to her. Then, when her heart was racing and her eyes filled with red, he stopped and turned. This surprised her and she let out an angry hiss, her grey-blue eyes narrowing in confusion (the beast tended to push her human mind out of the way: see, the boy did not know or think he was her prey, and she did not realize this.) She simply stood that way for a minute: staring, lips pulled back in a deadly smile, and frozen in a half-pouncing position.

The boy saw her, and immediately his grin dropped. His eyes narrowed in return, as he felt her confusion. "What's wrong?" he asked, keeping the taunts out of his voice,"Cat got your tongue, Miss?" Still, he couldn't help cracking a lopsided grin, and, though serious still, his eyes glimmered softly with newfound interest. And amusement.

Her eyes still narrowed, the strange girl straightened her posture, although her shoulders were still hunched slightly, as if she wanted to be walking on them, too. She stopped holding her coat so possessively, but it still covered all of her. "Cat got.. my tongue?" she asked, her lips once again pulling into a grin. Sharp incisors glittered in the daylight. How true it was! "Yes, I suppose it does..." she whispered, referring to the 'beast'. However, this human did not know about it. Her own curiosity piqued as she remembered why she had followed him: not for the hunt, but for the reading of emotions. Her gaze shifted to his eyes, and defiance was reflected in her own. She wanted to ask, but didn't at the same time...

He gave a small chuckle. "Thought so." He stared her in the eyes, amusement warring with interest again. "Why did you follow me?" he asked her all of a sudden, wanting to go ahead and find out why. It still hadn't occurred to him that not everyone was as blunt as he was. He continued to watch her, feeling her curiosity grow slightly. Well, that was something they had in common, at least.

Bristling, the girl glared right on back. "Why did YOU follow me?" she spat, refusing to 'give in' (as her pride would call it) to the human.

He shrugged. "Dunno, really. Just felt drawn to following you, Shorty." He grinned again for a split second before his face turned into the mask he always wore, stony and sullen-looking. "Granted, it was probably over-the-top to follow you for so long, but nevertheless."

"Drawn?" the girl snorted, her nose crinkling slightly. "Must be my magnetic sel- Shorty? I think not." she sneered. "You, good sir," she retorted, major sarcasm on the 'good sir' part, "Are just freakishly tall." she inspected him once more, as if contemplating on what to do. For a few seconds, she remained silent, and did nothing but look the man over, and finally, her human side fully took over. "To answer your question, you said something that caught my interest. Then you ran." Her eyes glimmered with an animalistic look. "And, it is never good to run from something dangerous. It might mistake you as prey.."

"I think so," he retorted,"Just because I am freakishly tall doesn't mean you're not abnormally short." He thought a moment, then continued on,"Said something? Like what? I can't remember everything I say, you know." He finished up with a grin. "Maybe that's the reason I ran. Ever thought of that?"
