“Never understood…” The girl giggled insanely, stabbing at the walls of her room. “No one cared, neh? Karaki?”
A tiny gold dragon cooed in response, bobbing its head in agreement.
“They don’t understand!” The blond girl slammed her fist into the wall, splintering the plaster slightly. “Stupid!” Another punch. “Stupid!” Another.
The small girl curled into a ball, her mouth spread wide in a maniacal grin. “Maybe I should kill ‘em all! That’d be great! Rikku likes that idea!” Rikku cackled, rocking back and forth.
She stopped, sobering slightly. “Pills. Where are they? Pills.” She scrambled to her feet, stumbling to her desk and ripping the drawers out, dumping their contents on the floor. “Where are they?!” she screeched, dropping to her knees, bloodshot emerald eyes widening in horror.
“My pills!” she howled, batting the drawers aside with her fists. “Give me them!”
She slammed her hands on the ground, tears spilling down her cheeks. “I want them!”
Angry, she rose, taking a drawer and slamming it against the wall. It splintered under her force, lying in shattered remnants on the floor. Karaki squawked, flapping further away from her.
She screamed, agitated hands clawing at the contents on the floor, looking for that orange bottle and those little white pills… Such beautiful pills… She swallowed dryly, gasping for breath.
That horrible ache was back. Aching in her heart, the pit of her stomach, her head, everywhere. She howled, tearing apart her room in search.
Finally… There! She lunged across her bed, landing in an ungraceful heap on the floor beside her beloved bottle of pills. “My pretties…” she cooed, soothing slowly.
She poured several of the white pills into her palm, tossed her head back, and swallowed them easily. They glided down her throat like butter on a hot pan, melting into her stomach luxuriously.
The ache quelled, and she cradled the bottle to her chest like a mother. “My babies… You’re always there… Even if no one else is… Isn’t that right?” She smiled widely. “My pretties?”
Her chaotic room fell into silence with a contented sigh from the tiny blond. She crawled into her corner, closing her tired eyes.
“Ahh… They all moved on…Yazzie, too. She moved on to her rightful place, but no one cares about poor Rikku… Not Ryou... No one...” she sighed,”Except you, my pretties.”
She like out a purr not unlike a playful kitten and huddled amongst thick blankets and dark pillows. “They don’t care. But that’s okay…” She giggled. “I have you, neh?” She nodded.
“I have you, my little white doves. Rikku loves you... You take her pain away... Neh?”
