He kept walking, repeating the Red Queen's directions over and again in his mind.
Suddenly, he thought aloud,"Well, really, she wasn't as fearsome as the tale made her out to be... Just a child... With telekinesis. If anything, the White Queen should have been the Red! She looks rather fearsome, and has the red hair you'd expect...!" He shrugged. "But what do I know?"
He came upon a hill, pausing to stare ahead for a few moments.
"That must be the forest up ahead, then... It's so scary-looking..." The boy shivered slightly.
He gulped softly, seeing his destination grow nearer.
"D-don't you dare panic!" the boy scolded himself, observing the large forest with a slightly fearful look in his eyes.
Convincing himself that nothing was going to go badly, he started into the underbrush, ducking limbs and trees.
"H-how am I supposed to find my way through these woods...?" the boy wondered, biting his lip.
A loud, masculine laugh caused the boy to freeze, shivering lightly in fear. He tugged at the sleeve of his hoodie, afraid to turn and see exactly who was laughing at him, but wondering if he could be a friend and losing himself in this train of thought.
"You can't find your way. All ways belong to the Queen, you know!"
The boy jumped again, startled by the male's second intrusion into his thoughts. "Wh-who are you?" he asked, turning timidly towards the tree.
The voice belonged to a blue-haired man, reclining on a tree limb. His light blue cat ears swiveled towards the smaller blond, his tail swishing softly. The stripes encircling the feline objects seemed to swirl around them ever so slightly. He displayed his sharp teeth as he grinned, placing his arms behind his head, the breeze ruffling his white shirt and jeans.
"Why, I'm the Cheshire Cat, of course, my boy." The Cat chuckled, stretching out further.
He frowned at the Cat, folding his arms slightly and daring to challenge the man. "You certainly don't look like the traditional Cheshire Cat. At least not in my opinion."
The Cheshire Cat grinned widely, his ocean-like eyes glimmering with amusement at the poor, lost boy. "You're in Wonderland, my love... Nothing here is traditional. In fact, not even you! You are supposed to be Alice, aren't you?"
The boy, taken aback and slightly flustered by this, rebuked,"Of course not...! How am I supposed to be anyone, after all, except myself?"
The Cat paused, staring at him lazily, before twisting so he hung upside down from the branch, appraising the blond with a keen eye, his left arm supporting his right elbow, his right fist placed over his chin in a thoughtful gesture.
"You know, you're right. You have much shorter hair... Not to mention no breasts. And you're certainly not wearing a dress, are you? How could I ever compare? Ah, my eyesight must be failing this old Cat."
The boy, unsure whether to take this as a jab at him or not, merely pouted. "Is that supposed to be mean?"
The Cat grinned again, sliding off the branch to land on his feet. "Only if you choose to take it that way."
He stared at the shorter boy again, tilting his head to the side and assuming his earlier pose, his hand supporting his chin again.
He strode forward all of a sudden, winding up very close to the blond, his hand darting out to catch the smaller boy's chin, the other hand going into his pocket.
The boy started, his eyes widening and a blush covering his face. "Wh-what are you doing?"
An amused curiousity filled the Cat's eyes. "Why are you so red?"
The boy, embarrassed by his question, answered with less force than he would have liked,"D-don't answer a question with a-another one!"
The Cat laughed and pressed his forehead to the blond's. "Nothing you need to worry about, love."
The boy flushed even brighter. "Y-you're in my personal space, I think I h-have a right to know why!"
The Cat smirked, amusement brightening his eyes further. "Well, if you must know... I'm marking you as mine."
His eyes widened even more. "Wh-what?! Y-you're what?!"
The smirk grew. "Not like that, my dear. Simply... Like this."
The Cat tilted the boy's head up further, pressing their lips together briefly. The feline pulled away, grinning widely. "And now you're mine, you see?"
The boy, a bright red beyond all thought, stumbled backwards, falling onto his rear. "Wh-what was th-that for?!"
The Cat blinked, confused at this response. "What? Did I do something wrong...? Is that not how humans like yourself court...?"
He shook his head slightly. "N-not like that! Th-they at least w-wait a while to get to kn-know someone before kissing them!"
Head tilt. Confused brow furrow. "Kiss...? What is that?"
Blushing again, the boy struggled for words, his mind still blown from the impromptu kiss. "M-mark, then! M-mark each other!"
"Oh... I see... I should have waited?" His brow furrowed again, as though the idea of waiting irked him.
"Y-yes! Y-you should have...!" The boy bit his lip tightly, making no move to get up.
The Cat pondered. "Sooo.... If I leave and come back later on, can I kiss you again?"
"Y-yes-! W-wait, no!" The boy winced, unable to take back his agreement.
The Cheshire Cat grinned widely. "Okay! I'll see you later, then, Alice~!"
The feline waved, vanishing until only mouth was visible, then gone.
"I s-said no! And my n-name's Chance...!" the still-blushing youth whined into air, sighing and slumping against the giant roots of a tree.
"What have I gotten myself into...?"
