"Don't touch me, please," she muttered,"My whole body is terribly sore from tripping every time I get one. That's why I'm sitting here."
Tris kissed him back, wrapping her arms around his neck loosely. She pulled away a moment. "I have... a bad feeling about the future."

Kira stifled an amused giggle. "No offense Syria, but how can you trip every time you get a vision?" She asked, trying to keep her amusement out of her voice.
"Believe it or not, I do too. The same force that Dartz has accessed is what threatens the future."

Syria rolled her eyes. "It startles me. And I try to keep moving, which involves me tripping over tables, over rugs.... down stairs..."
Tris nodded. "I'm... afraid. Afraid of losing everyone..." she admitted.

"You will temporarily lose some friends in this time line to the ways of fate but you will regain them, from what I've seen." Warrick said, drawing Tris into a hug.
"Then next time don't move." Kira said flippantly making Critias sigh. "Okay, clearly not helpful." She muttered a few seconds later with a sigh of her own.

Syria rolled her eyes. "Kind of hard to do when I've been trying to get a lot of things done... It's hard to sit down every five minutes without someone asking something."
Tris nodded. "Yes... I think you're right..."

"Well, we're here now so why not let us help out?" Kira said, removing her helmet and placing it on the table.
"I also see us making many new friends as well." Warrick said with a happy smile.

"Well, it's just getting stuff together... To be ready to assume my new position..." She made a face. "Royal Dragon Master. I've never even heard of such."
Tris nodded, mirroring his smile. "I do as well."

"Well, what kind of stuff do you have to gather together?" Kira asked, sounding very much like her future self.

Syria sighed. "Business-y stuff, I don't know!" she complained. "I've never put together my own lunch before!"

"Let me guess, his Royal Highness has created the position which you are taking?" Kira asked, a note of disdain for their king slipping into her voice.

Syria nodded. "Yes," she sighed,"And I have no choice. He's roped me in so well I have no room to move... He plans on getting Mir and Tris next." She scowled bitterly. "So, in effect, all of us will be centered around His Majesty at some point. Unless we run or something, but that's out of the question."

"That's not true. Don't forget, your friends with his presumed "Loyal" Knights. What nobody except those in this room knows is that we all swore allegiance to his father at the time of our induction." Critias said. "He won't know that until it's too late."

Critias' words seemed to have no sway with the newly-pessimistic Syria. "Perhaps... Or perhaps you're only pawns in this chess game," she said, a trifle meanly, her aches making her irritable.

"Either way, we won't go down without a fight." The oddly hyper Kira stated, a glint in her eyes showing that she was sure of that fact as much as she was sure of her own existence.

"Perhaps the fight will make you go down," Syria mumbled, then sighed. "Sorry. I've been really depressed lately, and I don't know why..."
