Screaming, crying, bleeding, pain. Four words that described the Chaosun household. Well, words that pertained to Alianore, anyway. Andromeda's four words, the blue-haired girl thought bitterly, were love, care, beauty, and happiness. Andromeda was Alianore's older-by-a-year half-sister. Yes, Alianore was a bastard. By-product of rape, actually. But in any case, her parents' reception to her was less than warm. A bit frosty, actually.
But that didn't matter anymore. The pain mattered now. Now that Andromeda had run away, Alianore was Emilia and Dante Chaosun's main child. Oh, what blissful, agonizing joy. All that that added up to was more pain.
She still remembered that day, two years ago, as though it had only just happened. She remembered coming home to find Andromeda gone, her mother sobbing, and her father raging. He'd hurt her extremely that day, but it didn't hurt as bad as she made him think it did. It seemed that Andromeda lived for screwing her life up. Now, as Alianore sat alone in her room, on her bed, she allowed herself to get angry, then become depressed. She let herself relive all of Andromeda's torments, all of the pain again.
Suddenly, a door slammed. Alianore jerked her head up, panicking internally for a moment before sliding open the window and slipping out of the house. She landed on her feet, and then she was running. She didn't know where to go, but she ran. She knew she couldn't go to the La Sin mansion. Imay would want to take action. THe Game Shop? No... He might be there. He being, of course, Joey Wheeler. He couldn't see her like this; her hair scraggly and tangled, one of her eyes blackened and a bruise on her arm and side. He'd worry, and she didn't want him to.
She made it to Domino Park and sat under the weeping willow in the square. Fitting. Her eyes closed slowly, no tears coming. Maybe they were all dried up. She sat there for what seemed like hours, the air turning from warm daytime sun to the cold, crisp nighttime moon. She was a bit chilled and the hugged her knees closer to her chest.
Suddenly that voice, the one she lived to hear, asked incredulously,"Alianore? What are you doing here?" She forced herself to look up and heard the slight intake of breath as Joey saw her eye, then her jaw, then her arm. He took off his green jacket, draping it over her shoulders before sitting next to her. "Will you tell me?" he asked gently, placing his hand over top of her hand, which she had placed on the ground. Her face turned slightly pink before saying,"My dad... he... hates me."
"I'm sure he doesn't hate ya, Ali-chan."
"He does. Because I'm a bastard child." Joey looked at her, a cloud of worry settling over his eyes. Alianore noticed this and said,"Don't worry about me. I'll be fine." Joey nodded slightly, then asked,"What does Andromeda have to do with any of this?" Alianore was silent before saying,"She made my life a living hell. She turned every single friend I got against me, gave my enemies blackmail, bribed my teachers to treat me like dirt... And told everything that I did wrong to my parents." Joey was quiet, thinking this over. "And you're glad she's gone?" he asked. "No. I want her to come back. To make my parents stop doing things wrong." Suddenly, his arms wrapped around her, pulling her close. "I know how it is. My dad hits me all the time, yells at me... It hurts. I know it does. But you have to be strong." His voice was the only thing she focused on as she lay her head on his chest gingerly, eyes filling with those hated tears.
"How? How is that possible when you have everything against you?" she asked, voice trembling. "You don't have everything against you, Alia-chan. You have us. Rory-chan, Imay-san, Haikari-chan, Yami-kun, Yugi-kun, Ryou-kun...Bakura-san and Kaiba-san to an extent. And me." Alianore was quiet for a time before saying,"It's still hard. You just want to give in. To make life, the pain, stop." He gently stroked her hair, saying,"I know, I know... But it's okay. I'm here. And..." He hesitated. Alianore tilted her head up. "And what?" she asked softly, looking him in the eyes. "And... I think I love you." His lips brushed hers gently, his warm eyes closed. Alianore closed her eyes slowly, but all too soon, he pulled away, a bit pink in the face. They sat in an awkward silence for a while until they both stood at last. Alianore tried to give him his jacket back, but he waved it off, telling her to keep it. "See you, Joey. And... I love you, too," she said before walking towards her home. Joey smiled softly before walking off as well.
